Jennifer Aniston slams ‘sexist society’

Jennifer Aniston thinks we live in a "very sexist society".

The ‘Cake’ actress hinted that she had personally experienced gender inequality in the film industry.

She explained: "We’re very much a sexist society. Women are still not paid as much as men …

"I’ve been up against that in negotiations myself."

The 45-year-old actress also defended fellow film star, Renée Zellweger – who sparked rumours that she had cosmetic surgery when she was photographed with an astonishingly different look in October 2014 – insisting that women are heavily scrutinized for their appearance.

She told the New York Times newspaper: "There was a big whistle blown out on her, and it was unnecessary. Did she really look that different? … You can’t hide those pouty little lips.

"I really do think you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. You either are too fat — ‘Oh my God, she’s gained weight, getting chubby, mid-40s spread!’ — or ‘She’s so skeletal, get some meat on her bones!’ I’ve been on too-thin lists. I’ve been on what-happened-to-her lists."

Meanwhile, the former ‘Friends’ star – who is engaged to Justin Theroux – recently revealed that she feels "pressured" to have children and thinks the criticism she’s received is unfair.

She shared previously: "I don’t like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women – that you’ve failed yourself as a female because you haven’t procreated. I don’t think it’s fair.

"You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t mothering – dogs, friends, friends’ children.

"This continually is said about me: that I was so career-driven and focused on myself; that I don’t want to be a mother, and how selfish that is."
