T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein are in talks to star in ‘Deadpool’.
Ryan Reynolds has agreed to reprise his role as the Marvel Comics anti-hero, a part he first played in 2009 film ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, and now Fox are finalising the other cast members.
According to reports, ‘Ill Manors’ actor Skrein is reportedly being lined up to play the film’s main villain, while ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ star Miller is wanted for some comic relief in the action flick.
The script has been penned by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese and the pair have promised to stay true to the wisecracking mercenary’s portrayal in the Marvel Comics Universe and allow Reynolds to "break the fourth wall" and speak to the screen.
Shooting on ‘Deadpool’ – which will be directed by VFX artist Tim Miller – is due to begin in March with the film scheduled for a February 2016 release date.
Reynolds is a huge fan of the character and according to Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld it was his enthusiasm and insistence he wanted to play the "merc with a mouth" again that resulted in the movie being made.
Liefeld previously said: "Ryan is Deadpool. Look, Ryan Reynolds, he’s gone through that same career arc, the guy is ridiculously talented.
"He has a huge, huge passion for Deadpool, because he was a giant star, they said, ‘Ryan, what do you want to do?’ And he said, ‘Deadpool’.
"That’s why it happened. They would have no faith otherwise. That movie is because of his passion. He put together the team."
