Sam Faiers "couldn’t eat anything" for the first six weeks after she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.
The 24-year-old beauty, who was diagnosed with the inflammatory bowel disease last year, saw her weight fall to six stone, which is considered a healthy weight for a nine-year-old child.
She explained: "For the first six weeks, I couldn’t eat anything.
"I went down to six stone – from nine stone. So you can imagine what it was like."
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star was living on a diet of chicken and mash after she was banned by doctors from eating acidic foods.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Everything I had to eat in the first three months after my diagnosis was very plain, and I was on a lot of medication and shakes.
"But my body took well to the medication. Between the summer and now, I can eat anything I want. But it’s everything in moderation.
"I can’t even touch white wine – it makes me feel so ill it’s not worth it. I used to love white wine, but now I stick to gin and tonic. Other than that, it’s pretty much living a normal life. I can do whatever I want, I can exercise as hard as I want."
