Brendan O’Carroll insists there will definitely be more ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’.
The 59-year-old funny man, who stars as foul-mouthed patriarch Agnes Brown in the BBC comedy, has revealed he has no plans to stop making the show anytime soon.
Quizzed on rumours the series is coming to an end, he said: "No, no, no. Danny, my son, lives in Donegal and he was doing a charity function up in Donegal … And in an interview he gave they said, ‘So what’s happening with Mrs. Brown’, and he said, ‘Oh, we’re finished with Mrs. Brown’.
"But he meant we’d just finished the Christmas specials. So the newspaper went with, ‘The end of Mrs. Brown’s Boys’, which is great, loads of publicity, fantastic."
Brendan – who received the Writer’s Guild of Great Britain Award for the popular show at the British Comedy Awards earlier this week – confessed he’s thrilled at how well received he’s been.
He told Philip Schofield and Amanda Holden on ‘This Morning’: "I’m not the kind of guy that would work hard for 20 years and then as soon as we make something successful, stop."
