Ben Foden will guest star on Hollyoaks.
The Rugby Union player will make a cameo appearance on the Channel 4 soap this Christmas in an episode that sees characters John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) prepare to tie the knot.
According to show bosses, the 29-year-old sporting star will save the day when, after a series of mishaps, John Paul and series newcomer Lockie Campbell (Nick Rhys) find themselves stranded in a unknown location prior to the ceremony.
Following a wild stag night, the pair are on the run from the law and hide out in the back of a lorry only for it to drive off with them trapped inside.
John Paul, who begins to fear he has missed his big day altogether, only makes it back in time after hitching a ride with Ben and a group of rugby players.
Ben has already filmed the scenes for the hour-long special, which will air on Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, Ben – who is married to The Saturdays star Una Foden – is expecting his second child with the 33-year-old singer.
The couple married in 2012 and already have a two-year-old daughter, Aoife Belle.
