Davina McCall: cast for The Jump is amazing

Davina McCall says the cast of ‘The Jump’ is "amazing."

The reality show – which premiered in January 2014 – follows celebrities attempting to master a variety of winter sports, and host Davina claims the participants in the second series will be even better than those in the first.

Speaking at the 2014 Cosmpolitan Ultimate Women Awards, where she won the Ultimate Editor’s Choice prize, in London on Wednesday (03.12.14), she said: "Oh my god, I am so excited! I got a list of all the names today, I can’t tell you because I was told I would be shot, but it’s amazing casting. A-mazing."

The show’s first series featured former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Amy Childs, presenter Anthea Turner, and cricketer Darren Gough, with singer Joe McElderry winning the competition.

Former England rugby player Mike Tindall – who is married to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips – has already been confirmed for the second series which will begin next year, and the mother-of-three teased a line-up of equally high-profile stars.

Davina told BANG Showbiz: "One might be worried that we’ve already peaked [by announcing Mike Tindall] but we haven’t. He’s right up there with the rest of them, that’s the kind of calibre we’re talking about this year, and they want to come and injure themselves, it’s amazing. It’s going to be amazing."

The 47-year-old presenter also teased more extreme stunts for the upcoming episodes, admitting she was surprised when she heard about the sports which Channel 4 plan on airing live.

She said: "I was looking at some of the ideas for the show and I thought maybe they’d have toned it down a bit but they haven’t. There is a horrific, horrific live event which will be happening live which is so scary. I looked at it today and I was like ‘god no way!’"
