Cilla Black for Royal Television Society’s first Legends Award

Cilla Black will receive the Royal Television Society’s (RTS) first ever Legends Award.

The Royal Television Society will award the former ‘Blind Date’ host with the award to honour her fifty years in the TV business during the RTS Legends Lunch: In Conversation with Cilla Black OBE on December 5 at the House of Lords.

The RTS is Britain’s leading forum for television and related media and has chosen to recognise Cilla as one of the nation’s most successful and best-loved entertainers.

The 71-year-old star has had 19 Top 40 singles, including two UK Number 1s, sold out concert venues around the world and presented iconic TV shows including ‘Surprise Surprise’ and ‘Blind Date’, which earned her a BAFTA Award.

The ‘Anyone Who Had A Heart’ singer will discuss her career in the television business – which began with the BBC and later ITV – and provide fascinating insights and anecdotes drawn from her extensive career.

Cilla will be in conversation with ITV’s Jeff Pope – who recently explored her music career and early life with late husband Bobby Willis in the Sheridan Smith-starring drama ‘Cilla’.
