Eddie Redmayne insists he would be "horrific" if he joined Twitter.
The ‘Les Miserables’ star has no desire to join the social networking site because he knows he would spend far too long deliberating over what messages to send and whether his grammar and spelling were correct.
He said: "I guess you struggle enough to be present in the world at all.
"When I was younger, I tried to write a diary, and I felt so self-conscious, ‘Who am I writing this for? I’m clearly not writing it for myself.’
"I think with tweeting, I’d be horrific. I’d always be looking down and asking, ‘Is this the version that I want?’ "
Instead, the 32-year-old star has turned to more traditional methods to inform the public of changes in his life, recently announcing his engagement to girlfriend Hannah Bagshawe in The Times newspaper.
When asked why he used this format to share the news, he told The Sunday Times Culture magazine: "[It’s] a tradition, a lovely tradition."
Eddie popped the question to his fiancée while they were on holiday.
A source said at the time: "He had been planning it for a while. They have a very relaxed and supportive relationship … they seemed to have always known they were going to spend the rest of their lives together."
