Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’ contestants don’t have his mobile number.
The music mogul is mentoring the Over 25s on this year’s show and though one of his hopefuls, Ben Haenow, is happy to call him a friend, he admits he can’t contact the 55-year-old star because he is too busy.
Ben said:" My boy, big Sizzle! I never imagined I’d be friends with Simon Cowell.
"To be able to chill out and shoot the breeze with hin, just to talk to him, I still get really starstruck.
"Do I have his mobile number? No, he’s got an empire to run, he doesn’t want us calling him up every five minutes."
Ben is being backed to win the show by another of Simon’s former ‘X Factor’ acts, One Direction, and he is stunned to have their support.
He told OK! magazine: "Niall [Horan], Zayn [Malik] and Louis [Tomlinson] came over to me. They shook my hand and said, ‘That was an amazing performance’ and they’re hoping I’ll do well.
"The lads are so cool considering they’re all multi-millionaires and going all around the world. For them to come up to me and shake my hand was surreal."
