Darcey Bussell has been helping Mark Wright overcome his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ nerves.
The 45-year-old former ballerina – who is a judge on the celebrity dance contest – feels sorry for the reality star because the show is so unlike anything he has ever experienced and has been giving him breathing exercises to help with his moments of panic.
She said: "Alison Hammond [was] the naughtiest [contestant], backstage she’s hysterical, whereas Mark Wright panics. I’ve given him breathing exercises – ‘Strictly’ is like nothing he’s ever done before."
Darcey thinks this year’s contestants are the most talented to take to the dancefloor yet, and she’s backing ‘EastEnders’ actor Jake Wood to make it to the final.
She said: "This is the best set of contestants the show has ever had.
"I don’t think anybody thought Jake Wood would be such an entertainer. It would be fabulous to see him in the final."
And the judge laughed off speculation of romances between the stars and their dance partners.
She told Closer magazine: "The ‘Strictly’ curse is just part of the show’s story, it makes me laugh.
"When you’re in a dance company, romances are always flying around."
