Mel Sykes is looking for love

Melanie Sykes doesn’t want to embarrass her children by having a relationship on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’

The 44-year-old television presenter and model split from husband Jack Cockings, 27, last year, and admitted that although she’s looking for love, she won’t be seeking out a new man while taking part in the reality TV show.

She explained: "I am ready to move but I’ve got no interest in starting a relationship in front of millions of people with my sons watching."

Discussing the likelihood of getting together with someone while in the jungle, she continued: "It would just be a little bit weird. So, no. I doubt that’s going to happen."

Talking about heading to Australia to take part in the programme, Melanie – who co-hosts ‘Let’s Do Lunch with Gino and Mel’ with friend, Gino D’Acampo – revealed that the hardest thing about the whole experience would be leaving her two sons Roman, 12, and Valentino, 10, back in England.

She revealed to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The kids are at school, and you’re only allowed one person to come out, and it’s an awfully long way, and with Valentino and his autism, I don’t think he’d handle that length of flight.

"So I’m just going to have that reunion in private and wait for it – hard as it will be. I miss them already, it is horrendous."

Mel is just one of 10 celebrities who will be entering the jungle, along with Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson, footballer Jimmy Bullard and ‘Coronation Street’ star Craig Charles, when the show starts on Sunday (16.11.14).
