Matthew Morrison and Renee Puente have a deeper connection since their wedding.
The ‘Glee’ star, who married his longterm girlfriend in front of just 50 close friends and family members in Hawaii last month, thinks their bond is "going to grow and grow" for the rest of their lives.
The 35-year-old actor said: "There’s this connection that I knew we had before, but it’s just deepened. It’s just going to grow and grow."
Asked how he knew Renee was "the one" for him, he told PEOPLE.com: "She kept kind of proving things. I was on tour with New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys, and she came on the road and lived in a tour bus with me, and I knew that this was either going to work or it really isn’t. It really did! I knew she was the one consecutively, day after day.
"She handles herself better than I do in a room. That’s an amazing part that I love about her."
But Matthew has become extremely protective of their relationship and doesn’t want to film any romantic scenes with other actresses.
Discussing a recent casting meeting, he said: "I was like, ‘You know what, honestly,’ I stopped them right there and said, ‘I don’t want to hear anything, because I just got married and I don’t want to see some beautiful, intelligent girl come up to me, because I’m off the market, you know!’ "
