Meg Ryan has sparked rumours she has reunited with John Mellencamp.
The ‘You’ve Got Mail’ actress split from the 63-year-old rocker in July after three years of dating, as they felt they could no longer sustain their long distance relationship, but the former couple were spotted strolling through SoHo in New York City on Wednesday (15.10.14).
An eyewitness told PEOPLE.com that the duo stopped by the Scholastic children’s bookstore, and looked "relaxed and comfortable" together.
Their friendly reunion comes just weeks after John called the 52-year-old actress, who lives in Manhattan with her adopted daughter Daisy, nine, an "angel" and admitted they only split up because they were forced to spend long periods apart, as he lives in Bloomington, Indiana.
During an interview last month, he said: "Meg is an angel. She was just an angel sent to me at the right time.
"We tried to have a relationship for three years – long distance. We’ll see what happens."
A source previously said they "had distance problems during the entire relationship and tried to make it work, but it wasn’t meant to be."
Another source said: "Meg enjoyed going to Bloomington with John to visit, but she isn’t going to pull up stakes from Manhattan, it’s where she made her life with her daughter.
"His heart is still in his native Indiana. He made a vow as a young man that he would never abandon it again after leaving twice before."
