Judy Murray: Andy thinks my tango will be good

Judy Murray’s son Andy thinks her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ tango will be a success.

The tennis coach is set to perform the South American dance with her professional partner Anton du Beke on this weekend’s show and she’s revealed her professional tennis player son thinks she’ll be great because it involves "angry stomping".

Judy received a text from her youngest son, saying: "U shud b gd at the Tango. Don’t u just have to stop about and look angry? (sic)"

She added: "I just laughed when he said that. They [Andy and older brother Jamie] have been following me over the internet as they haven’t been in the country."

The 54-year-old sportswoman – who was described by the judges last week as having "rigor mortis" after failing to impress with her quickstep – is desperate to stay in the BBC One dance contest for longer so that her sons can come to a live show.

She told The Sun newspaper: "If I do get through this Saturday [18.10.14], Andy and Jamie will be back in the country and can come and watch.

"That’s a goal to stay this weekend. They need to come as it’s payback time.

"If I can stay another week, that would be amazing."

Judy also confessed that rather than taking offense from the judge’s criticisms, she actually finds their observations hilarious.

Referring to Bruno Tonioli dubbing her "stiffer than Nelson’s Column", she added: "I know I am pretty wooden and I know my upper body is very stiff.

"I absolutely love their comments. They are funny and they are true."
