Robert Downey Jr. is in negotiations to play Iron Man again.
The 49-year-old actor has starred as Tony Stark and his superhero alter-ego in three title films and ‘The Avengers’ movie and he has revealed he’s in talks to reprise the role again.
During an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ yesterday (07.10.14), Downey was asked if there are plans for ‘Iron Man 4’, to which he replied: "I know there are going to be a bunch more Marvel movies and they have big ideas of how to do it best and [they’re] in the middle of negotiation."
When he was interviewed on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ on Tuesday evening the Hollywood star apparently closed the door on their being an ‘Iron Man 4’ but admitted the character would be back on screen.
He said: "There [are] no plans for an ‘Iron Man 4’."
When he was pressed further by the host, who asked why the film wasn’t in the works, he explained: "That’s a valid question. Like it hasn’t made enough money? Yeah, I guess they have too much money or something. There is no script for ‘Iron Man 4’. They do have a plan and I think they’re going to announce it [soon]. I’m going to do other stuff with Marvel. I’m still going to be involved with Marvel and there’s going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen."
