Daniel Radcliffe feels bad for crying fans

Daniel Radcliffe finds it hard to deal with crying fans.

The 25-year-old actor admits it can be a regular occurrence for admirers of his to burst into tears when they meet their idol from the ‘Harry Potter’ films and he still doesn’t know what he should say to them to calm them down.

In an interview in As If magazine, he said: "There have been times when I’ve met someone, and it’s been awkward, and I don’t know why, and someone will say to me, ‘Daniel, they were nervous to meet you!’ Of course, that thought never entered my head!

"The worst is when people cry though. It’s an awful feeling, particularly when they are 13 or 14-year-old girls. I feel horrible that they’re crying. It’s not worth crying about. Please! They are mostly crying out of excitement, but I still don’t know how to deal with that."

Radcliffe – who can currently be seen in ‘Horns’ – is adamant that he is just a "regular" guy, even though he has been an actor from the age of 10 and played the most famous fictional wizard in the world.

He said: "I hope one of the things that surprises people when they meet me is that I am really quite normal. At least I think I am! I don’t think I’m an obnoxious d**k, and I think some have that perception of people who’ve grown up in the spotlight. I obviously know that my experience isn’t the same as everybody else’s, but when I talk to people, I don’t feel separate from them in any way … The aura of fame is bull-s**t. People who enjoy being treated differently and revel in the attention that others give them are generally people I don’t like very much."
