Lynda Bellingham hopes to reunite with late father

Lynda Bellingham hopes to be reunited with her long-lost father when she dies.

On September 28, 2014, the former ‘Loose Women’ presenter announced that she would be stopping the chemotherapy to treat her terminal bowel cancer, leaving her with just a few weeks to live.

Now the 66-year-old actress and television personality – who was adopted by British parents shortly after being born – has revealed that she hopes to meet her biological father in heaven.

In her autobiography, ‘Memoir’, Lynda has explained how she wishes she could have met her Canadian father, Carl Seymour Hutton.

She wrote: "I am drawn once again to how my life began and where I came from, and in particular who my birth father really was.

"Now I long to talk to him, to show him what I have achieved."

In an open letter to her late father – who passed away 50 years ago – she wrote: "I hope you can look down and see my world. I have worked so hard to get it right before I go and I hope there is a way you can look after them all, just as I will be doing from wherever I am off to. Who knows, we might just meet in the middle."

Speaking about her death, Lynda admitted: "I’m quite nervous about saying goodbye but I don’t fear death. I’m not religious but I am a Christian, and I like to think there’s somewhere else to go."
