Pixie Lott cast her boyfriend Oliver Cheshire in her ‘Break Up Song’ video to make it more "real".
The 23-year-old singer enlisted the help of her 26-year-old beau to star in the video for the new single because she wanted to add a sense of authenticity to the song and it made it "less awkward" than acting out the clip with a model.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, the ‘Broken Arrow’ singer said: "I just thought it’s one of my favourite songs on the album and I love the lyrics of it.
"I wanted to do a video where you could really see the emotion and where people could really relate to the song and I thought the only way I could get it most real was if I did it with my boyfriend.
"It’s a bit awkward when you have to do it with a model or actor and you have to get all close.. and you want to laugh!"
But Pixie also revealed she got very emotional on set at the thought of her breaking up with Oliver for real.
She added: "He’s a model but he does acting as well so it made it really easy and we just really got into the character and one of the takes we did I burst my eyes out crying.
"I was so sad because I really got into the character and I got into the zone and I thought it was real and I got really sad."
Pixie and Oliver have been dating for more than four years, but in an interview last month the male model said they won’t be tying the knot anytime soon.
He told Attitude magazine: "We’re both still young, she’s 23, I’m 26.
"I think a lot of people rush in crazy to stuff, which is fine, you can do, if that suits you. But why change it, if we’re happy at the moment?"
