David Haye puts movie career plans on hold

David Haye has been forced to put his movie career plans on hold to concentrate on getting back into shape.

The heavyweight boxer admitted he still dreams of becoming a big name in Hollywood one day but has had to put such aspirations on the back burner of late after requiring reconstructive surgery on his shoulder.

Speaking at the Hilton rooftop bar at London’s Wembley to celebrate the transformation of the iconic arch at Wembley Stadium connected by EE, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I haven’t had time for acting lessons, it’s all been about getting my body back into condition.

"I’ve had a massive operation on my shoulder, reconstructive surgery, so it’s taking a while trying to get that back into good working order.

"That’s my priority, Hollywood can wait. That’s without doubt still my dream. Boxing has a shelf life but you can go into acting at any age."

The 33-year-old fighter previously revealed he would love to star as a villain in a motion picture.

He said: "I’m looking into a move into action films once my boxing career comes to an end – hopefully voluntarily so it won’t get ended by someone else.

"I want to be a baddie, to be honest. That would be my ultimate role so I can really get all ‘eviled up’ for it."

David Haye attended a party at the Hilton rooftop bar to celebrate the transformation of the iconic arch at Wembley Stadium connected by EE. Multi-coloured LED floodlights have been installed as part EE’s partnership with the stadium.
