‘Downton Abbey’ star Allen Leech was once sent a pair of Christmas socks by a fan.
The 33-year-old actor – who plays the role of Tom Branson in the ITV period drama – has revealed he often gets bizarre presents from fans of the show.
Quizzed on who out of the cast receives the most fan mail, he told Now magazine: "We never discuss it. I got sent some Rudolph socks last Christmas and a marriage proposal on Twitter this morning. I said I’d think about it!"
‘The Imitation Game’ star also revealed that the cast have nicknamed ‘Harry Potter’ actress Dame Maggie Smith – who stars as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham in ‘Downton Abbey’ – ‘The Notorious MAG’, in homage to the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G.
Meanwhile, while Allen insists he never Google searches his own name, he does search the internet for old modelling shots of one of his cast mates.
He added: "I’ve Googled Rob [James-Collier]. There are some lovely modelling shots of him."
