Craig Revel Horwood: X Factor judges ‘desperate’

Craig Revel Horwood has branded the ‘X Factor’ panel "desperate".

The outspoken ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge also hit out at Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s judging skills, insisting she isn’t impartial enough to give contestants a fair critique.

Responding to the ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ singer’s comments about winning ‘Strictly’ not meaning or offering as much as winning ‘The X Factor’, Craig said: "I think it is sour grapes. As long as she keeps crying, that’s all the audience wants from Cheryl.

"I think Simon [Cowell] made her say it – they’re getting desperate for viewers so I think they’ll use anything they can.

"[As for Cheryl’s judging], I think if you get that attached to people it does harm your judging skills."

The choreographer believes his show is much more "fun" than its rival.

He added: "’Strictly’ doesn’t pick people up and drop them. And you get to learnt to dance. It’s a lot more fun, it’s not as serious."

However, despite his comments, Craig admits he does watch ‘The X Factor’ – to scout for new talent.

He told heat magazine: "I’m on the lookout for new talent for my theatre shows. So they do all the work for me."
