Chris Brown gained 35 pounds in jail

Chris Brown gained 35 pounds in prison.

The ‘Loyal’ hitmaker, who spent 108 days behind bars for violating his probation when he allegedly made threats about using guns while seeking anger-management treatment in rehab earlier this year, admits he was afraid of being told he looked "fat" upon his release in June after his weight increased from 180 to 215 pounds.

The 25-year-old star told ‘Extra’: "My normal weight is like 180 [and] I was 215 when I got out of jail."

He added: "I couldn’t fit in my jeans, fit in my clothes. I was scared to go out. I was like, ‘Man, people will see me and I look fat.’ "

The ‘Fine China’ singer has since slimmed down by exercising as much as possible.

He said: "So after a while I went and played a lot of basketball, a lot of cardio…[and] I was always dancing, always dancing, trying to get my body back."

Chris, who is dating Karrueche Tran, insists he will "never forget" his time in jail and believes it has helped him finally regain control of his life.

He said: "It was definitely one of the things I’ll never forget. For me, I just learned that nobody’s invincible, everybody’s equal, at the same time no amount of celebrity status, no amount of how many fans love you, no amount of anything can deter you away from the real if you make a mistake and nobody’s excusable.

"I think for me it was a humbling experience for me to become a man and mature."
