Rita Ora ‘desperately trying to make friends’ with Calvin Harris

Rita Ora is desperate to be friends with Calvin Harris.

The ‘RIP’ singer has written a letter to her former flame to call a truce and ask his permission for her to perform the songs he wrote for her – including chart-topping single ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ – again after he recently blocked their use.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Rita is desperately trying to make friends with Calvin so she can perform her song again and possible get the tracks back.

"His actions have set the campaign back and she wants to try to repair the damage."

The hand-written note also featured a message congratulating Calvin on the success of his UK number one single ‘Blame’ – which features John Newman – and the 23-year-old singer is hoping the letter will smooth the tensions that have arose since their break-up this summer.

Last month, Calvin banned Rita from performing ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ at the Teen Choice Awards, much to her surprise.

At the time, she said: "He wrote and produced the song, so he has to approve anything TV-wise. He didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards. I could have been told a few weeks earlier. That would have been nice."

However, Calvin angrily retorted on twitter: "You’ll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk about every aspect of my personal life.

"But just know that I had a damn good reason.(sic)"
