Sir Mick Jagger has become friends with Harry Styles.
The Rolling Stones rocker has "taken a shine" to the One Direction heartthrob after inviting him to join him at a party for the band during their recent tour.
It is reported that Mick, 71, struck up a close friendship with the ‘Kiss You’ singer – who had already made it known that he is a huge fan of the star – following the bash, and describes him and his band mates, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan as "lovely young lads".
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Harry made it clear he was a huge fan of Mick but never expected he’d take any notice. But people kept telling Mick how much Harry looked like a younger version of him so he started to investigate One Direction.
"Mick’s not a massive fan of their music because he’s a rocker to the core, but he thinks they’re lovely young lads and took a shine to Harry.
"He invited him to a special party during the Stones’ tour and they instantly hit it off."
Harry is said to be thrilled with the new friendship and regularly catches up with Mick on the phone.
The source added: "They swapped numbers and now regularly phone each other just to chat. Harry can’t believe it.
"It’s very much a friendship. Mick isn’t trying to be a mentor or anything like that, which is why Harry likes him so much."
