Cara Delevingne is to star in the upcoming John Green adaptation ‘Paper Towns’.
The model is to play the role of Margo in the new film, which is the second best-selling Green novel to be turned into a movie, following on from ‘The Fault in Our Stars’.
Green took to Twitter to confirm the casting news, saying: "Cara Delevigne’s audition blew everyone away (including me!) and she understands Margo profoundly. I am so excited!"
Jake Schreier, the director of the film, observed that the model’s audition was "something special".
Meanwhile, Delevingne was understandably delighted to have been cast in the role, tweeting: "Thank you so much guys!! I am so excited! Ahhhh! X (sic)"
It’s also been confirmed that Nat Wolff will star alongside Delevingne as Quentin, who is asked Margo to help her gain revenge on people who have hurt her.
When Margo vanishes, he follows a series of clues that he hopes will lead to finding her.
Delevingne is, of course, predominantly known as a model, but she has also appeared in Sky Arts Playhouse drama ‘Timeless’ and will soon star in ‘The Face of an Angel’, the forthcoming Amanda Knox movie.
‘Paper Towns’ is set to be released next summer.
