Jane Danson in favour of Vicky Entwistle return

‘Coronation Street’ star Jane Danson would love Vicky Entwistle to return to the soap.

The 35-year-old actress has starred as Leanne Battersby in the ITV soap for nearly two decades and she’s confessed she’d love it if rumours her on-screen step-mum Janice Battersby is set to return were true.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards at the London Hilton on Park Lane, Jane told BANG Showbiz: "I love that rumour. Obviously I would always champion any Battersby coming back.

"Not only because we’re all amazing characters, but we all want to do something really special together. I do like those rumours, but how true they are, I don’t know."

The soap star – who herself returned to the show in the year 2000 after departing in 2004 – also spoke about her love of Leanne’s flaws.

Commenting on her character’s inability to escape her past, she said: "Yeah, I quite like that. She’s a victim of the past and it’s something Corrie revisits, and I like that side of her character.

"I like the fact that she was a wayward child. Just when things are going right for her, they always go wrong. I like that character change."
