Boy George has never been in love


Boy George has never "truly" been in love.

The ‘Karma Chameleon’ singer still has feelings for his ex-partners and cares about what happens to them, but doesn’t think he has ever fallen properly in love with anyone.

He said: "I would say at this point, I don’t think I’ve ever really truly been in love which is quite of shocking thing to say.

"I mean, I think over the years, I probably felt that I was kind of madly in love with quite few people. There are a couple of ex-partners that I love now which is different, like I love them as friends. I kind of love them in a way that I could never love them when I was going out with them. And I actually care about what happens to them."

The 52-year-old singer – who is openly gay – still hopes to find love one day after realising his previous ideas that relationships need "drama" were "naive".

Asked on ‘Piers Morgan Live’ if he hopes to find true love, he said: "I think, yeah. It would be nice.

"When you are young, you have such unrealistic expectations of other people and your idea of what love is, is kind of a little bit naive.

"I used to think it was a big drum and I needed fireworks because I grow up with that scene. My parents were like that.

"I kind of, for years, thought of all those kind of very dramatic relationships were really the real thing. So, I’m waiting."
