Reece Shearsmith leads cast of Chasing Shadows

Reece Shearsmith, Alex Kingston and Noel Clarke are set to star in ‘Chasing Shadows’.

The thrilling new four-part drama will see Shearsmith take on the role of socially awkward misfit Detective Superintendent Sean Stone who, along with his missing persons field unit, will hunt down serial killers who prey on vulnerable and impressionable people.

‘Doctor Who’ star Kingston will play Stone’s partner Ruth Hattersley, an analyst from the Missing Persons Bureau, whose understanding nature allows her to balance out Stone’s often awkward personality which could otherwise lead him to self destruction.

Her fellow ‘Doctor Who’ star Noel Clarke has been cast as Detective Inspector Prior in the new ITV series written by ‘DCI Banks’ writer Rob Williams.

The TV drama will be produced by the ITV Studios drama team which is headed by Francis Hopkinson who will also take on the role of executive producer while Christopher Menaul will direct the first self-contained story titled ‘Only Connect’ across two episodes. Directing the second story ‘Off Radar’ will be ‘The Reckoning’ boss Jim O’Hanlon.

The cast are due to begin filming shortly but the start date is so far unknown.
