Lara Stone hated being pregnant.
The 30-year-old model – who has 14-month-old son Alfred with husband David Walliams – found the changes her body went through when she was carrying her little boy "quite frightening" and worried she would never work again.
She said: "Being pregnant affected my work quite early on – it’s not like you can work until you’re eight months pregnant. It was quite frightening seeing my body change so much.
"Yes, I did worry about the impact, because my body is my job and my livelihood."
And though the Dutch beauty took a year off work to be with her son, she admits she was keen to get back to the catwalk as she hates "sitting around".
She added: "I like working and I don’t like sitting around at home, so I really wanted to get back into things.
"It’s nice once the baby’s here, but then I was like, ‘I really want to do something again.’ "
Because the couple don’t live near their families, Lara admitted she and her 42-year-old spouse are often forced to leave their son with nannies for several days when they are away working.
She told the Sunday Times Style magazine: "My family doesn’t live near and my husband’s family lives a couple of hours away, and both of our jobs are so unpredictable.
"Sometimes there is nothing you can do and you have to leave him with the nanny for a couple of days."
