Ian Ziering: Sharknado 2 ‘challenging’

Ian Ziering found filming ‘Sharknado 2’ "challenging".

The 50-year-old actor has reprised his role as Fin Shepherd in the TV movie alongside Tara Reid, but he admits he found it difficult to shoot his part because he was struggling to deal with the freezing temperature in New York at the time.

Ian, who was born in New Jersey, explained: "’Sharkardo 2′ takes place in New York City this time and it’s a bigger storm and I’ve got a bigger chain saw.

"We filmed in March and it was so cold. There was not one day above freezing. It was challenging because the weather was so cold. It really made it tough to work with."

However, his co-star Tara – who he worked with in Los Angeles last year on the first movie ‘Sharknado’ – helped boost morale and he was glad when it was announced that she would be reprising her role as his on-screen ex-wife April Wexle again.

He told BANG Showbiz exclusively: I was so happy to work with her again. She’s such a doll and she’s so fun and I really like Tara."

When asked what the future holds for his alter-ego Fin and Tara’s character April in the upcoming film, he replied: "Well, you’re gonna have to wait and see because I’m not going to give anything away. But Finn is a family man and he does everything he can do to save his family, so that’s really what it’s all about."

‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’ airs Thursday 31 July at 9pm on Syfy.
