Cheryl Cole has been given six weeks to decide on her ‘X Factor’ future.
The 30-year-old singer is in line for a sensational return to the TV talent show, but the end of her first run brings back bad memories of her divorce from Ashley Cole and her battle against malaria – and so she isn’t sure if she’d be happy being back as a judge.
An insider told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "She is in a good place, the best she’s ever been.
"She is focused on her music career and doesn’t know whether she wants to throw herself back into the spotlight to this degree again."
However, her uncertainty could cost her a big-money return, with Simon Cowell said to be keen to get a quick decision either way, so he can begin the hunt for a replacement if necessary.
The source added: "He doesn’t really understand what there is to mull over and just wants it sorted out.
"Contracts will need to be signed in May. If Cheryl is going to pull out they need to have someone else to go after. They are hoping for an answer in the next six weeks."
