Joe Manganiello found it difficult to understand Sofia Vergara’s Colombian family when she introduced them over the weekend.
The ‘Modern Family’ actress and the ‘True Blood’ star, who started dating earlier this month, enjoyed a dinner date with 12 members of her family at Makoto in Bal Harbour but Joe – who doesn’t speak Spanish – was left confused by what was going on.
A source told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: "Everyone at the table was speaking Spanish. Joe doesn’t speak a word!"
As a result the brunette beauty spent much of the meal translating her family’s Spanish conversation into English for the heartthrob.
However, the couple appeared to be smitten with one another.
An eyewitness previously told E! News: "They were super lovey-dovey and affectionate. Joe had his hand around her and there were times they were holding hands. They were so cute.
"Everyone seemed so happy to be around him!"
The pair, who first met at the White House Correspondents Dinner two months ago, stayed at the St. Regis Bal Harbour and also dined at the waterfront bistro Sea Salt & Pepper on Friday (25.07.14).
