Chris O’Dowd defends Justin Bieber

Chris O’Dowd has defended Justin Bieber’s recent behaviour.

The ‘Bridesmaids’ star believes the ‘Beauty and a Beat’ hitmaker’s controversy – which includes being investigated over the egging of a neighbour’s house and getting arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest and driving with an invalid licence – makes sense given his quick rise to fame.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I would have reacted in the same way as Justin Bieber if I’d got famous so young."

The 34-year-old actor added he expected Justin, 19, to have gone further with his behaviour, and joked if he’d been in the same position he might have "killed a guy".

He said: "It’s strange that he hasn’t gone worse. I think I would have killed a guy by now."

Meanwhile, Justin’s uncle has claimed his nephew’s problems stem from his on/off relationship with Selena Gomez.

Brad Bieber recently explained: "How would you feel if your first love didn’t work out?

"How would you feel if that relationship went sour and then it became public and you had no chance to heal or sort out your own emotions and feelings? He is just a brokenhearted, lost little boy."
