Cameron Diaz says producers did "the best they could" with her singing voice for ‘Annie’.
The 41-year-old actress plays the cruel Miss Hannigan in the upcoming remake of the classic children’s musical, but Cameron admits she was apprehensive to sing for the role as she isn’t a naturally gifted warbler.
Appearing on ‘Chelsea Lately’, she said: "With ‘Annie’, we did the best we could."
However, despite her worries the blonde beauty believes she gave an adequate performance in her musical number.
She added: "I think we got to my optimum which is different to other people – yeah, we tried."
The movie, produced by rap mega-star Jay Z and A-list actor Will Smith, will star Quvenzhane Wallis in the lead role of Annie. Jamie Foxx and Rose Byrne are also part of the star-studded cast.
Jay will provide the score for the movie and admits the story of the red-headed orphan resonated with him as a youngster.
He previously said: "When the TV version [of ‘Annie’] came on, I was drawn to it. It was the struggle of this poor kid in this environment and how her life changed – it immediately resonated."
