Ali Cook: Ian Somerhalder taught me to ‘pout’

Ali Cook insists Ian Somerhalder taught him to "pout".

The 39-year-old actor is currently starring alongside the 35-year-old hunk in the new sci-fi thriller ‘The Anomaly’, but instead of giving him performance tips, Cook was learning how to perfect his camera-ready pose.

Asked if Somerhalder gave him any acting advice, Cook joked: "He taught me how to pose."

The movie, which is set 22 years in the future, follows a former solider [Somerhalder], who finds himself captive in the back of a van, and is only able to stay conscious for nine minutes and 47 seconds at any one time, and therefore only has just under 10 minutes to work out how he ended up captive in the back of a vehicle.

Meanwhile, Cook – who plays Agent Travis in the Noel Clarke directed film – admits he’s unsure whether aliens exist and thinks a lot of theories lead towards slavery.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "People look at the pyramids as evidence of alien intervention on this planet. But I think people underestimate the use of slavery."

Asked if he’s ever had a unidentified flying object (UFO) experience, Cook added: "I’ve certainly been probed but I’m not sure it was in the name of science."
