Charlie Brooks to appear in Suspects

Charlie Brooks is to guest star on ‘Suspects’.

The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who played troublemaking murderer Janine Butcher – will find herself in hot water with the law once again in the second series of the hit Channel 5 crime drama.

Charlie and a host of other guest stars – including ‘Fish Tank’ actress Katie Jarvis, Dominic Power, Luke Newberry and Claire Cooper – will appear in the show’s two-part premiere later this year which will see Detective Inspector Martha Bellamy (Fay Ripley) and her team attempt to solve the mystery of a sex game gone wrong.

Martha and her colleagues DS Jack Weston (Damien Molony) and DC Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Steele (Clare-Hope Ashitey) suspect foul play when they find barrister Jonathan Moxton naked, tied up and covered in blood.

Charlie will play Jonathan’s wife, Tanya Moxton, who quickly becomes a suspect in the case.

Dominic will play a paranoid schizophrenic who is also questioned, while Katie will portray his appropriate adult.

Other guest stars set to appear in the second series include ‘Hollyoaks’ star Emmett J. Scanlan, Ben Peel, Gillian Kearney and Carley Stenson.

‘Suspects’ is unique in its approach to the crime drama format as all the dialogue is improvised by the actors based on a tightly-plotted storyline.
