Britain’s Prince Harry and William play in charity cricket match

Britain’s Prince Harry and Prince William played in a charity cricket match yesterday (14.07.14).

The royal brothers were the star players in the match organised by The Royal Foundation of The Duke of Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry in support of United for Wildlife’s "♯WhoseSideAreYouOn" campaign.

The charity project aims to use the power of sport and social media to inform the generation about wildlife crime.

The Duke of Cambridge has said of the cause in the past: "Around the world, the illegal wildlife trade is responsible for the slaughter of tens of thousands of animals a year, pushing some of our most beloved species to the brink of extinction.

"Our children should not live in a world without elephants, tigers, lions and rhinos.

"Enough is enough. It is time to choose between critically endangered species and the criminals who kill them for money."

Others who joined the Princes in the match included former England fast-bowler Devon Malcolm, Pakistani cricketer Azhar Mahmoud and retired England wicketkeeper Paul Nixon while legendary cricketer Kevin Pietersen cheered them on as he watched from the sidelines.

William, Harry and the former sports stars were all playing for one team while royal household staff made up the opposing team in the match played in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
