Ridley Scott: Exodus ‘biggest’ film I’ve ever made

Ridley Scott says ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ is the "biggest" movie he’s ever made.

The ‘Prometheus’ director is currently in post-production for the upcoming drama about Moses’ hand in leading the Israelite slaves out of Egypt and he’s revealed it’s the biggest project he’s ever worked on.

He explained: "Well, in terms of the metaphorical aspects, yes [this is the biggest project I’ve done]. Even budgetarily it’s probably the biggest, yeah.

"But I didn’t approach it as my biggest. I never do that. I always approach it from the point of view of the characters, of the story.

"I never realised ‘Gladiator’ was going to be quite as large in terms of its scope and yet it was a very small, personal story."

‘Exodus’ tells the story of two brothers – Moses (Christian Bale) and his adopted sibling Rhamses (Joel Edgerton) – and deals with warfare, plagues and literal acts of God but Scott has tried to keep details of the plot under wraps.

He told ScreenRant: "I’ve held back a bit – wait till you see the move. You must never oversell yourself. You’ve got to wait till you’re three weeks out, then you go for it."

‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ also stars Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, and Ben Kingsley and is scheduled for release on December 26 2014.
