Britain’s Prince William says starting his own family has been a "silver lining" following his mother’s death.
The 32-year-old royal has revealed getting married to Duchess Catherine and welcoming his first child, Prince George, last year has helped him move on with his life after the tragic death of Princess Diana in a car accident in Paris, France, in 1997.
William made the comments during the launch of the Queen’s Young Leaders awards scheme as he met with two survivors of the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, who lost their parents in the natural disaster.
William expressed his sympathy to the brothers and declared young people who lose their parents simply must "dust yourself off and carry on".
Paul and Rob Forkan were invited to the launch event due to their humanitarian efforts following their parents’ death. The pair set up a flip-flop brand Gandy’s, with all profits going towards building orphanages in developing countries.
Rob, 26, told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "He said he lost his mum at 15 but there was always a silver lining and you should dust yourself off and carry on.
"He applauded what we had done and said keep up the good work. He’s got his own family now – that was his silver lining."
