Prince Charles to watch Red Arrows


Britain’s Prince Charles is to attend this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo on Friday (11.07.14).

The 65-year-old royal is among the guests expected to watch the Red Arrows in action at the annual air show at the RAF Fairford base in Gloucestershire, south west England.

Charles will meet members of the Red Arrows, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

A spokesperson for the RIAT said: "HRH The Prince of Wales is to attend the Royal International Air Tattoo on Friday July 11 when the air show will be holding a special Red Arrows’ Pit Day.

"The Prince of Wales will meet the pilots and air crew beside their aircraft following the display and after the team have performed a special flypast with aircraft flown by the team leaders from the Patrouille de France, Patrouille Suisse, Frecce Tricolori and Breitling Jet Team to mark their 50th display season.

"The Prince of Wales will also visit the air show’s Techno Zone, an interactive area sponsored by Lockheed Martin which brings engineering and technology to life with entertaining, hands’ on entertainment. Here he will meet youngsters and members of the Air Cadets."

The RIAT takes place this weekend.
