Charlotte Casiraghi and Gad Elmaleh baptise baby son

Monaco’s Charlotte Casiraghi and Gad Elmaleh have baptised their baby boy Raphäel.

The couple had the religious ceremony carried out at the royal chapel of Monaco’s palace last Sunday (22.06.14) with their close friends and family in attendance.

Following the baptism, Charlotte, 27, and her French comedian boyfriend, 43, had laid out a lavish lunch for their guests – including Princess Caroline, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene – in the palace gardens, according to HELLO! magazine.

The loved-up duo – who have been together since January 2012, welcomed Raphäel into the world in December last year, in the same maternity ward where the princess was born in Monaco in 1986.

However, the youngster is yet to make his first official royal appearance, although he has been snapped by the paparazzi a number of times.

Meanwhile, Gad gushed about his stunning beau in an interview just before she gave birth and was adamant she’d make the best mother "in the world".

He said at the time: "Charlotte is very intelligent and has a great sense of humour. She’s doing well and is so excited about becoming a mother.

"Charlotte will be the best mother in the world because she’s generous and loving. She has all the right qualities to be a good mother. I’m a very happy man. I’m so lucky to be with her and I’m at a point in my life where building a family is very important."
