Eric Dane "regrets" involving his wife in his "mistakes".
The former ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star and spouse Rebecca Gayheart were the subject of a leaked sex tape with another woman in 2009, and the actor was treated in rehab for an addiction to painkillers two years later.
Despite his struggles, Eric, 41, insists the past is now behind him and he couldn’t be happier with his life.
He told People magazine: "I honestly think I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be at this moment in time. And I’m really happy.
"We’ve all made mistakes. My one regret is that I got the person I love most wrapped up in all that: Rebecca.
"But we worked through it and put it behind us. We have two beautiful kids and our marriage is stronger than ever."
The ‘Ship’ star – who was just seven years old when his father passed away – has daughters Billie, four, and Georgia, two, with Rebecca, 42, and adores family life.
He said: "I never had a family, and now I do. I know I’m a very lucky guy."
Eric and Rebecca took legal action after the footage of them with former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche was made public.
They successfully sued website Gawker.com for unlawfully publishing the film and "maliciously" distributing the video.
