Britain’s Queen Elizabeth stepped out at the Epsom Derby at the weekend fresh from her three-day visit to France for the D-Day 70th anniversary commemorations.
The 88-year-old monarch showed no signs of slowing down as she took a stroll around the racecourse in Surrey on Saturday (07.06.14) with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, following a number of official engagements.
The Queen and Prince Philip were joined at the event by opera singer Katherine Jenkins, Clare Balding, Jodie Kidd and Laura Whitmore.
Other members of the British royal family were also in attendance, including Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Prince Pavlos and Princess Marie Chantal of Greece and Princess Alexandra.
The Queen had previously honoured the war dead in Paris, France by laying a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier underneath the Arc de Triomphe.
She was joined by French president Francois Hollande in paying tribute to those who lost their lives protecting the nation.
During the trip, she also travelled to Normandy for a special ceremony and was the guest of honour at a party to celebrate her 88th birthday, held at the ambassador’s residence.
Guests including World War II veterans and Olympic gold medal winner Bradley Wiggins enjoyed British food and drink.
