Declan Donnelly claims Simon Cowell has cut his and Ant McPartlin’s screen time on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 38-year-old presenter insists his friends and family have been complaining that he and his co-host, also 38, haven’t been the focus of much screen time on the ITV talent show – which is currently in the semi-final stage – this year.
He said: "I’ve been away recently but I have been getting a lot of messages on Saturday from friends saying, ‘Not seen you much tonight’ and ‘Where have you both gone?’
"I don’t know why really – it’s a funny one because we don’t control the edit and we film so much content so sometimes you do say, ‘I wish they’d used that joke.’ "
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ host has admitted he thinks they’re being edited out of the show so that Simon, 54, can include more shots of himself and his co-judges Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
He told The Sun newspaper: "The man in charge is Simon, of course, and there’s always going to be a lot of glowing shots of him looking wise and all knowing.
"There’s never going to be a shortage of Simon in an episode. But of course the most important people to the show is the talent, and even if you don’t see us a lot, I think the show does a good job of making them the top priority."
