Tinashe will only tour as an opening act for artists who “really understand” her.
The 33-year-old singer will open for Harry Styles in Phoenix, Arizona on April 2 and 3 to kick off the North American leg of the Watermelon Sugar hitmaker’s Together, Together tour.
Appearing on stage at the Spotify x Coach event on Wednesday (16.09.26), Tinashe said: “I think when it comes to opening acts, I’ve opened for a lot amazing artists.
“I’ve opened for Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Beyonce, I’ve done a cool run.
“So, I think I reached a point where I was like, I’m not gonna open for anyone unless I feel like they really understand what I’m about, and I’m going to be there and feel comfortable and express myself to their audience.”
Tinashe, who previously acting in the likes of The Polar Express, Out of Jimmy’s Head before breaking out in music in the mid-2010s, noted that Harry meets her criteria.
She added: “And I will say that the Harry shows, and Harry Styles in general, I feel like he’s very open to the artistry and wanting fans to have a good time.
“And that’s, at the end of the day, what it’s really all about.
“Being able to go into these rooms and see people and connect with people, and have these experiences through music and through performances.”
The Nasty hitmaker admitted she is “excited” for the stadiums shows, which will be a new experience for her.
She said: “That’s what it’s all about. So, I’m excited to be able to get up there in Phoenix.
“That’ll be really fun! It’ll be sick, I never perform my songs in a stadium! It’ll be great!”
The new run builds on the tour’s monster 2026 success and marks the first time Styles will take the show into stadiums across the United States and Canada.
The 2027 leg kicks off on April 2 with two nights at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix before rolling through Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto, Atlanta and Chicago. Styles then heads across the Atlantic for shows in Berlin, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Dublin, wrapping up the summer with a three‑night homecoming at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Each city will get its own special guest, and Styles has stacked the bill with one of his most eclectic line‑ups yet. Kylie Minogue, Tears For Fears, Tinashe, Caroline Polachek, Feist, LCD Soundsystem, Lainey Wilson, Baby Rose, Q Marsden, The Womack Sisters, Getdown Services and CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso will appear on select dates.
The tour originally launched in May 2026 with 67 shows across Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Melbourne and Sydney. Styles is currently midway through a record‑breaking 30‑night residency at Madison Square Garden – his only U.S. dates of 2026 – before heading to Australia in December.
Styles will continue his decade‑long partnership with Choose Love, supporting humanitarian work around the world. In London, £1 from every ticket sold will go to LIVE Trust to help protect grassroots music venues. U.S. fans will again be able to register to vote at HeadCount pop‑ups throughout the tour.
The run also continues its sustainability push through Green Nation, with efforts to cut single‑use materials, encourage lower‑impact travel and reduce emissions by using HVO fuel where possible.
