Liam Gallagher missed last Oasis tour rehearsal

Liam Gallagher failed to turn up for the final rehearsal before Oasis’ reunion tour started.

The group returned to the stage for the first time since 2009 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on 4 July last year, but the singer sparked chaos when he was a no-show at the last run-through and only made his appearance “20 minutes before” the gig started.

In new documentary film Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, which documents the reunion, the Daily Mirror reports Noel Gallagher said: “We’ve got a chance here to change the narrative of the band. We have got a chance to fix all the s*** that we have just let drift apart.

“The final run-through, the night before the thing. Didn’t see him. Ohh. The next thing is one of the biggest f****** moments of our lives right. And he’s not rehearsed.

“I am like oh yeah? He turns up 20 minutes before the gig ‘alright, what’s the catering like?’.

“I am like how the f*** is this…what the f***. And then he grabs my hand and I am like ‘what the f***?’. And off he goes, sounding like he was 30 years young. Just rocked up and did it. And I am like ‘you absolute mad .’”

The film – which featured remote cameras to capture rehearsal footage without disturbing the band – showed how strained relations were between brothers Liam and Noel in the beginning.

Oasis began rehearsals without their singer, who eventually walked in and asked: “Are we ready then?” before starting to sing.

Later, during a run-through of Champagne Supernova, Liam walked out before the song had finished without a word of goodbye.

After finishing the track, guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs quipped: “See ya!”

He then told Noel: “He’s not in tomorrow he’s saying. He’s gonna do Monday/Tuesday.”

Noel replied: “Great. F** great. Long weekend. I’m f***** anyway.”

While the guitarist was baffled by his brother’s behaviour, he insisted he respected Liam’s approach.

He said: “I’m not sure if our kid is enjoying himself. I can’t work it out in my head. He just comes in and f**** off. I have got a newfound respect for it. I respect it.”

But as the film and the tour progress, the pair are seen repairing their rift and getting on better than ever.

Liam said: “The music brought us back together. Oasis man. Oasis saves.”
