Post Malone delays tour to focus on album

Post Malone has cancelled the start of his tour so he can finish his album.

The Circles hitmaker was due to head out on the Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 later this month but it will now kick off in Charlotte, North Carolina on 9 June, more than three weeks after it was due to begin and resulting in six gigs being axed entirely, including stops in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida.

Post made the decision after he “promised y’all beautiful people new music” but hasn’t yet delivered on that pledge.

He announced on his Instagram Story: “Hey there party people, Let me first kick this mofo off by saying – hope everyone out there is having a kickass day and spending time doing what they love with the people they love.

“Looking at the upcoming schedule after stagecoach, I came to the realisation that what we were trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up.

“Truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.

“That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all.(sic)”

But Post Malone – whose real name is Austin Post – insisted his new music will be worth the schedule change, though he stressed he isn’t turning his back on his old material.

Referencing his 2016 debut album Stoney, he concluded: “That THAT being said, we been making some bad*** s***for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again. And to alot of little stinkers that think I’ve forgotten about ole Stoney, I haven’t… I love you, and can’t wait to see you crazy motherf****** soon -Austin.(sic)”

Last month, the 30-year-old singer suggested his next album, The Eternal Buzz, will feature 40 songs.

The Sunflower singer sent fans wild after uploading a blank 40‑song tracklist on Instagram along with the caption “coming soon.”

And last year, Post Malone revealed that he had “made probably 35 songs” for his next country album.

The I Had Some Help star said that he’d been deep in vocal sessions for the follow‑up to 2024’s chart‑topping F‑1 Trillion.

Speaking to Billboard ahead of his Coachella 2025 set, he said he was already buzzing about the material.

Post explained that working with Nashville collaborators Ernest, Hardy and Thomas Rhett had been a blast, saying they “just sit and talk and make songs” and that he’s genuinely excited about the new record.

He added that he was trying to figure out “which one’s rock, and which one’s sock” as he sorted through the huge pile of tracks.

While still working on scratch vocals, he said they already had plenty of songs ready to go.
