Lambrini Girls forced out of Coachella after singer suffers horror injury

Lambrini Girls have pulled out of Coachella after singer Phoebe Lunny suffered a neck fracture and “acute brain injury”.

The Brighton, UK punk duo – who also features Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez – were set to perform at the iconic festival before touring North America, but they have been removed from the lineup and rescheduled the dates after a scary accident.

Taking to Instagram, Phoebe wrote: “We have to pull out of Coachella and reschedule our whole American headline tour.

“Long story short: I fractured my neck and have an acute brain injury.

“TLDR: Happened in Australia, misdiagnosed, late treatment.

“Doctors orders are I can’t fly or perform for 6 weeks.”

The band confirmed their upcoming UK and Europe shows are going ahead from late may, while they’ll return to the UK in June and September for the rescheduled dates.

Phoebe admitted the band are “so gutted” to be missing the festival, and she explained the nature of the injury means they have no other options.

She said: “We have received quite a lot of messages re Coachella, we are so gutted guys. We want to be there so badly.

“If it was a broken leg, I would do a Dave Grohl and play it. This isn’t something we are taking lightly and we are really sad. We hope and pray there’s some universe we get to play next year instead.

“Because it is my neck and brain, our hands are tied for now, but I’m lucky and expect a speedy recovery thank f*** lol.”

Meanwhile, the singer also used the announcement as a chance to issue a rallying call to fans in the US.

She wrote: “It’s dark times, especially in the states.

“There are so many good folks who are carving out community and lifting each other up in the face of facism (sic).

“Making space for subversion and resistance is at the core of what this band is about.

“Seeing people of all ages, genders and backgrounds come together to mosh, lift each other up, chant, cry, scream in both parts joyful and angry, is my greatest joy.”
