Olivia Dean beats Adele’s long‑standing radio record with Man I Need

Olivia Dean has surpassed a benchmark last achieved by Adele.

Billboard reports that Olivia’s Man I Need has become the first song by a woman since Adele’s Hello to reach No. 1 across Pop, Adult Pop and Adult R’n’B radio.

In 2025, Olivia become the only female solo artist to have four singles in the Official Charts UK Top 10 simultaneously.

The neo-soul pop star became the first British female artist since Adele to score three UK Top 10 singles. Man I Need also became the highest-charting UK song on Spotify’s Global Charts that year.

She went on to smash yet another record, thanks to Man I Need (#2), So Easy (To Fall in Love) (#6), Nice To Each Other (#8) and her Sam Fender collaboration Rein Me In (#10).

Olivia became the first solo British female artist to claim the number one single and album simultaneously with Man I Need and The Art of Loving since Adele in 2021.

The album also gained the biggest opening week for a British female artist since Adele’s 30.

As for when fans can expect her third studio album, Olivia believes “every good album comes as the result of some living”.

In a 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she said: “I have my own arena tour coming up—which is ridiculous! I’m excited to pour into that and make that a special experience for everybody. Maybe I’ll get back in the studio soon; it’ll be quite nice to express myself and make some new things. And travel! I’d like to see the world, whether that’s with touring or not. I think I’ve got some living to do now. I think every good album comes as a result of some living.”
