Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe claims he saw UFO

Randy Blythe says he’s fairly sure he once witnessed a UFO, recalling an incident on the North Carolina coast that left him and two friends “freaked out”.

The Lamb Of God frontman, 55, shared the story in a Metal Hammer Q+A, where Clutch singer Neil Fallon, 54, asked whether he’d ever seen anything unusual in the sky.

Randy said the moment happened while he was staying at a rented house on Oak Island, sitting on the porch with Sourvein’s T‑Roy and his girlfriend.

According to Randy, “two sets of four lights in a kind of square pattern” appeared over the ocean.

He said: “They went horizontal very quickly, one this way and one that way, then they went up and then down, and then they both shot into the sky at an incredible speed.

 “We were honestly freaked out.”

He added that he’s familiar with military aircraft and is confident the lights weren’t anything conventional.

Randy went on: “I’m quite aware of our military take‑off vehicles, and they can’t go that fast. They weren’t drones. I am not obsessed with aliens or weird conspiracy stuff like some of my friends, but I think it’s improbable that we’re the only intelligent thing in the universe. And I definitely saw an unidentified flying object that night.”

Randy sharing the bizarre sighting comes as Lamb Of God prepare to release their 12th album, Into Oblivion, later this month.

The band – who kick off their North American trek in support of the album on March 17 – released the title track in January, with Randy explaining that the record reflects what he sees as a rapid shift in social norms.

He said: “That’s where we’re heading.

“In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago.”
